CHIMINEA
|
|
|
-Chiminea, or clay firepot, is made in Mexico
and at one time a similar design was used by the mnatives for
outdoor cooking
- The clay heats up quickly and will crack with extreme heat so
it is recommended that you think of chiminesa as decorative rather
than highly functional.
- What you burn in chiminea depends on the fire regulations in
your area.
- Before burning in the chiminea put a heavy layer of sand on
the bottom. Briquettes, fire (presto) logs and wood chips are
then put on top of the sand being careful not to have the heat
source touching the clay. One presto log burns for at least 4
hours. Candles lit inside the chimineas are wonderful.
- Chimineas do not like constant exposure to rain. We put an open
umbrella inside the spout during rainy times.
-In winter we move the chiminea indoors and use candles.
- Enjoy ... they do create a wonderful atmosphehere.

KOKOPELLI
|
Kokopelli has abeen adopted by many cultures
from Peru to American Southwest. An ancient time traveller, Kokopelli,
with his characteristic humped back and his flute are seen in
either pictographic or petrolyphic form throughout prehistoric
cultures from around the world.
His hump is usually thought of as a bag of seed which he planted
wherever he travelled. Navajo legends say Kaokopelli brought their
corn seeds.
The name Kokopelli is Hopi in origin. The Hopis used flutes in
their water ceremomies. Kokopelli is seen as a 'rain priest',
hence the water dousers on his head. Some designs depict only
two dousers, some many.
Kokopelli designs range from simple stick men to complex figures.
Some are depicted with phalluses, portraying his fertility god
image. In one of the designs Kokopelli is accompanied by a little
dog - not often seen.
As trickster, healer, fertility figure, messenger, songster, dowser,
trader, seed carrier, Kokopelli is one of the most fascinating
characters in folklore of the Native Americans.
Some in Southwest simply call kokopelli, 'The bringer of joy'.
When the Anasazi hundreds of years ago, deep in their red rock
canyons heard the haunting and lovely flute melody echoing down
the canyon walls, they knew good times were coming.

FRIENDSHIP BALLS
|
In
renewing and old English tradition, it is told how a special ornament
is traditionally passed back and forth as the occasion arose and
exchanged through the years by friends, sisters, and mothers.
Ours is filled with luxurious beauty bar of almond soap and body
puff bath sponge. Maybe it will be returned with special chocolates,
an antique pin, a pretty soap, or an antique handkerchief for
drying tears. In any case, use your imagination to fill your friendship
ball and pass it back and forth through the years. After all,
the real gift inside is the treasure of your friendship.
Friendship Ball
A ball is a circle
No beginning , on end.
It keeps us together
Like our circle of friends,
The treasure inside
for just you to see
Is the treasure of friendship
You have granted to me.

FENG SHUI CANDLES
|
|
|
Feng Shui is a way to live harmoniously with the
natural environment. Ancient Chinese believe one's fortune is affected
by the balance of the five elements... Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal,
Water.
These elements can be generative. Metal can be
melted to flow like Water which is needed to sustain growing Wood
which burns creating Fire which leaves ash of earth from which is
obtained Metal.
They can also be destructive. Metal cuts down Wood
which draws goodness from the Earth. Earth pollutes Water which
extinguishes Fire and Fire meelts Metal.
To seek prosperity, good health and happy marriage,
one must find out his/her element and locate the enviroment which
enhances the generative influence and avoids the destructive impact.
One way you can do this is to place the candle
that represents the element you need in your office or home in the
'best direction' to make harmony with the environment.
For more information drop down to Bugsys and find
out if your house is in harmony with your element.
